  5. The plea made here notwithstanding, the Biden administration put the United States ahead of all other countries in the world to confront climate change. There is no comparison between the Democratic and the Republican party -- the latter of which is literally legislating from the bench to undo our most essential, universally popular, and basic environmental legislation; the Clean Air and Clean Water acts. Right now, Ron DeSantis is leading Republican governors in paving roads with radioactive waste. As progressives, we must always push for more -- as this courageous and patriotic American does -- but don't underestimate our gains either. We have 100 members in the Congressional Progressive Caucus, which is approx. 40% of all left wing members of Congress (99 Democrats and Bernie Sanders). Let's make it 60% of elected members, and more progressive Senators in 2024.
