But the exercise of pouring over the lessons and import of the past cannot end up obstructing the very real potential for movement into a better future.

  4.  @oliveoil5789  - Though certainly open for debate, it's widely recognized that nation states have a right of self-defense. The Jewish people are no monolith on this issue either, many are of the view that the invocation of the survival of the Jews to garner support for the actions of the War Cabinet, Israeli Defense Forces, and the Netanyahu administration is deeply offensive and damaging to both Israel and the Jewish people -- I am in agreement with this view.
