  1. It's about whether all ballots are counted or whether white hegemony becomes white apartheid when mostly white votes are allowed or counted. The Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act will restore voting rights to their 1965 level, and make it harder to undo the protections originally provided by the Voting Rights Act that were stripped away with the Republican Supreme Court majority ruling effectively saying they aren't needed because "racism is over". They are existential to the Republic in the face of the assault on democracy waged by the GOP.

  2.  @pedronunez3456  - These bills protect the right to vote and whether we even have elections, frankly. The Republican party is an extremist autocratic party and they are dismantling the Republic. The Freedom to Vote Act and the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act are quite arguably the only way to preserve the union at all.
