The Republican party just voted against researching disinformation. Who would vote against research used to protect us from disinformation? Only people who use disinformation campaigns. Friends don't let friends vote Republican.

@tylermckeage5942 - If you vote Republican, you are supporting a party with 3/4ths of its membership wanting the U.S. turned into a Christian nationalist state, despite knowing that it would be unconstitutional. I vote for democracy against autocracy and hegemony every time. The Republican party is not a conservative political party anymore, it is an extremist white nationalist insurgency minority ruling over its majority will -- and too often the nation's majority will -- and is led by autocratic billionaire oligarchs.

@briareusm - I personally agree, but have certainly heard well-informed opinion to the contrary. I am optimistic that if truly separated from State, including all subsidies (like tax exemption) removed -- plus anti-proselytizing and anti-discrimination regulations on all tax exemptions for charitable organizations and all related public-service activities, it is not a persistent threat to democracy and self-determination. I also understand the role of pacifism and service inspired by religion or faith -- as demonstrated by the Catholic and Quaker blocs of the abolitionist, labor rights and land reform movements -- have been a powerful force for progress in this country and others, as well as a force for subjugation and white hegemony.

ADDENDUM: ...and in the anti-war and anti-nuclear proliferation movements, like the Plo[w]shares who courageously spread paint simulating blood on U.S. nukes and delivery systems and served prison time for it.
