  1. Secretary Austin is right. Because of the genocidal and global threat Putin's Russia poses to self-determination and democracy, Russia must be weakened. Crimea isn't independent, so it doesn't matter if they want to be Russian, does it? Even positing the idea completely ignores Ukrainian sovereignty.
