  1. That the guy only lasted a total of two months from being conscripted indicated that the chance of dying is now much greater than it was. It is just like Lloyd George in WW1, out of fear that more troops will be used in wasteful counter offensives, the Government does not trust the army with extra soldiers. But they also want victories.
