I think he knew he was taking risks. The men in that family enjoyed doing risky things.

@j.y.3604 The strange thing is this was a guy who literally had it all from the day he was born. Money contacts and looks that had women throwing themselves at him (and finding out he was superficial). Maybe just bored by not having to strive for things . RFK JR managed to get a worm in his brain, something that meant he had ate raw pork despite the known dangers. There was something in the father and uncle that made them careless, even JFK's war exploits were along those lines but it is difficult to forgive junior's lack of concern for those he took down with him.

@marygersten862 JFK insisted the protective Perspex shield be left off the limo in Dallas even though his wife was beside him. Innately reckless not just with himself but with those who depended on him. All the Kennedy men were like that.
