Ben Hodges was right about the invasion not working and Magregor was wrong. But I'd say in the last year Macgregor's stock is rising and Hodges is increasingly seeming like the deluded one.

What politically realistic option does Putin have but try to keep advancing in order to demonstrate that Russia is not reaching the end of its strength. He cannot stop now.

Putin can't get a deal by going to the Dnieper; he has to cross it and use the threat of Russia advancing even further.
