  6.  @ABR04D  I really question how interested the Russians are in keeping him alive. The exfiltration pursuit by a drone looks like Ukrainian had a drone set up and waiting for him to leave. His team are too high profile and has too many members for surviving under current conditions.

  7. ​ @malikatamaeva3811  He has become infected by fatalism. He has been reporting on the fighting for ten years. He was never in all those years so close to exploding ordinance. It was a drone meant for him; that intro with his speaking to the camera right out side the bunker at the begining was surely spotted. . As they told him, if that drone happened to have a thermobaric warhead he would have been seriously injured. And then his vehicle was being specially hunted by another drone.

  16.  @ABR04D  I think they already knew there is a Russian bunker there but Patrick's arrival drew attention to it and made them think it was the center of something. The guys he was talking to seemed surprised that the fake bunker entrance attack was such a near miss. That is for sure the closest he has ever been to an enemy drone and its detonation, and likely the nearest to any kind of exploding ordinance in ten years.
