The EU don't like that Trump insists EU countries start paying for their own defence instead of freeloading on American taxpayers; the EU hate him and will harm his chance of becoming Pres again any way they can. Judges do pay attention to public and elected politicians' concern. Never forget, the government can do anything it feels it has to do, such as conscript you into the army and send you off to die in a war. There has to be order in the country so it is fair enough to convict those who are involved in advocating disorder. The reason there were these riots is because the far right men who were actually rioting already have criminal convictions and no substantial job to protect. I don't agree with people making inflammatory social media posting people being sentenced non suspended prison sentences unless they have previous convictions some kind. It is making clear that there is two tier policing.
