@andriyliberty3862 Until 2008, Russia recognized Abkhazia and Ossetia as part of Georgia, but after Georgia attacked these republics and killed Russian peacekeepers, why should Russia support Georgia? The US would have occupied Georgia for one American killed.

@andriyliberty3862 Georgia wanted to join NATO, exactly. Therefore, they started a war instead of peacefully negotiating with the people who live there. What does NATO want? Why is NATO building up its forces and not allowing Russia to join it?

@philm3509 Kiev reunified after pro-Russian uprisings against Poland. The Cossacks destroyed Jews, Tatars and Poles so that only Orthodox Russians would live on Russian soil. You are confusing an ethnic group that has never been united like the Slavs or Celts, with those who have lived together for thousands of years like the Japanese. Transcarpathian Slavs even call themselves Rusyns, although they have never been part of Kievan Rus. For some reason, they associated themselves with the brothers who lived on the other side of the mountains.
