Exactly, been done before, America actually helped Afghanistan by taking all their gear home.

@simonh1552 they too busy "revenging" on themselves to "bombs" anyone else these days, Afghanistan will tear itself apart which is a fulltime job as it is.

@supremeheavenlydeity5742 and that's a lovely story but this is a war, has been for the last 20+ years. Afghan was not "unified" long before the US stepped in so what exactly do you think is going to change this century?

@diegotr1903 sudden? They where there 20 years, some would say that's 19 years and 6 months longer than first envisaged. It definately was not "sudden" that's for sure.

Was a regular old Shangri La before the US arrived and by all accounts is turning back into one now they've left....are you guys actually serious??

It literally costs more to ship old equipment back around the planet than it does to leave it in country and replace it new in the US and better to destroy it than have it fall into Taliban hands, which is exactly what is happening.

@inconspicuousdaddy6307 oh so you think it is just a crazy coincidence that Taliban is now ramping up, taking over 1/3 of the country as the US forces pull out and the large columns of the Afghan army are laying down it's arms and running across the border or better yet, joining the Taliban? Just all happened this year right? 20 years later? Wow how's that for convenient timing? Are you serious dude?? Want a web link, the entire internet is a web link at the moment, literally take you 3 seconds to find 100 stories from numerous sources from all around the globe on what is happening in Afghanistan right now champ.

So these guys are having a whinge and a moan because the Americans didn't leave all their gear behind for them?? You mean on top of all the gear they have already given your military over the years? that strangely enough looks exactly like the gear the Taliban are now using?? And they're seriously wondering why??? Not sure what these guys idea of peace is but pretty sure when they are literally battling for provinces all around the country then peace is definately not the call of the day, funny how that works. Thousands of unemployed? Really? So over the past 20 years no one figured out that eventually the Americans and allies would leave, in fact isn't it what "Afghanistan wanted" for "peace"? can't have your cake and eat it as well. These guys actually sound more angry that their money supply has ended now they finally got what they wanted but what exactly were they expecting, handouts? Paychecks? Free stuff? Not really how leaving works.
