  5.  @augustinf  it’s a whole complex thing that changes with time and people have different definitions. Legally they were recognised as separate entities to the USA and Federal government, in this case that’s the starting point, not their ancestors prior but from the second their treaties were signed. Like a bit of a similar thing would be that there’s a reason nations are only nations if someone else recognises them aka Somaliland.

  6. China has said multiple times they will invade Taiwan. And Taiwan is a close ally of the USA. China will declare war on the USA as they are pulled into a war.
