@Knards I have tried repeatedly to get into them and bands like Yes, early Genesis, Wishbone Ash etc. I even have a couple of their albums. As someone who likes both rock music and classical music I feel like I should be able to get into them but can't... they fall between two stools. On the other hand I enjoy the likes of Hendrix, Pink Floyd, 70s Hawkwind, early Queen, 70s Black Sabbath, Novalis, early Kraftwerk so I'm not totally anti-prog. I even like some of the Nice which is one of ELP's "ancestors".

@stuatagovailoa7536 I spent the 90s overhearing that trash. Listen to the Stone Roses and Beatles... that's their source material.

@octavius8562 They are good at soundbytes and quotes, but not good at writing songs or playing. If they were treated like some third tier 90s group like "My Life Story" etc, I wouldn't be bothered. Inspiral Carpets are a better group than Oasis but hardly anyone's heard of them these days.

@kathyratino962 Nope mate, I have a couple of ELP albums at home. Listened to them a number of times, and tried to get into them. They do little or nothing for me. I prefer listening to rock or classical. They fall between two stools for me. A differing opinion is not "trolling". Do you say this to people in the office or in the street?

@hammermillable I have a couple of their albums at home. I prefer the Nice which was Keith Emerson's previous band. They had a couple of decent songs.

@johnoneal1234 I know they were gifted musicians but then again so is Yngwie Malmsteen and I find much of stuff unlistenable!

@huffpappy Yes they do mate, and I'd rather listen to classical music played by an orchestra than early 70s Moogs (with few honorable exceptions such ss Wendy Carlos.)
