@internet person — Cool username BTW! 👍🏻👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾👍🏿👍🏾👍🏽👍🏼👍🏻 I take it you haven’t read some of the articles on this subject. The issue isn’t placing high speed rail lines through remote areas Ike the Dakota’s, the issue is the COST of the changes needed. Our existing Rail system was designed around slow steam engine travel. Our existing rail lines could be used at lower speeds in cities, but once out of populated areas new tracks would be needed that are a level of precision (very level, very slight grades, very stable) that would require new tracks. There’s the burn, old tracks would still be needed for freight. New tracks require land, labor, and other resources that are now VERY expensive. In the early railroad days this was relatively cheap, now... not so cheap.
The initial plans called for first stage corridors, east and west coast, with Spurs off to slower tracks near cities, this would allow a fast trip from say Tacoma/Seattle to LA or San Diego, but not much speed benefit say from SFO to LA. The second phase was an east to west coast high speed rail corridor, think overnight from NY to LA. Third phase was to be middle America city connections/stops. The big snag was cost, opposition from existing travel PAC”s, and public opposition. Think of it this way... Taxi companies feared loss of revenue and successfully lobbied lawmakers to block BART from serving SFO airport. The expected hurdles made the project an impossible one.

I flip houses, and have rental properties. I noticed a trend after a few years of issues, Samsung fights every warranty repair tooth and nail, denying warranty claims for any possible reason. “We need the original receipt,” “We show Home Depot/Best Buy/Sam’s club/CostCo as the original purchaser, not you.” When you replace or repair your umpteenth TV, refrigerator, dishwasher, stove, whatever appliance inside the warranty period at your expense, and the only common denominator is Samsung… you get seriously pissed. AVOID SAMSUNG PRODUCTS AS IF THEY ARE RADIOACTIVE ☢️!!!
