@stevestults1111 â I half agree with your âa locked up firearm is no good for protection,â comment. But there are fingerprint reader + code + key lock boxes and gun safes. I have a small gun safe bolted to my nightstand and one bolted in my car. It takes all of one or two seconds to have the gun in my hand if itâs ever needed. Iâm sure youâre going to respond wonât work if you are hit and fingers bloody, and you are correct. It would take an extra 15 to 30 seconds to enter the code, about the same if I needed the key, So youâre right, Iâd be dead possibly. But I also frequently open the safe when I start my car or hit the sack, and just tap it closed when I get out or up. IMHO, thatâs a small price to pay to keep a gun from being stolen. Which by the way, is where most guns used in crimes come from. Most common sources are theft from homes, usually by someone who knows you have unsecured weapons or finds them on entry, or from public sales like garage or flea markets.

@d3bbi339 â No, I donât âknowâ what the founders intent was outside of what history books and records of that time tell us. The 2a intent was to create a balance of power in the people, lest the government turn dictatorial. And you are correct, the âwell armed militiaâ line is now comical given the military we have today that couldnât have been imagined when the constitution was inked. That a bunch of citizens armed with firearms could defend against jets, tanks and attack helicopters is laughable. But your statements indicate you donât understand my perspective at all. A gun or âassault rifleâ doesnât do anything, it just has the capability to give you a chance to survive an attempt. Iâve been robbed, held at gunpoint for four hours and the police afterwards were like âno big deal, you can file a report if you want but theyâll never catch the guy.â No gun has ever jumped out and shot someone, people did that. Did the availability of the gun mean they used it instead of a hammer, axe or shovel? Absolutely. We are blaming the gun, and ignoring the human factor. The human factor IS THE CAUSE. And our constitution was written in pencil âď¸, which means as public opinion shifts if we donât work together to curb gun violence, we WILL face the loss of the second amendment. And then law abiding citizens will turn in their guns, and criminals will laugh.

Wowza people! Youâre forgetting a few things, Trumps arrogance is perceived as confidence, they will believe Trumps lies and propaganda. Look at Trumpâs Coronavirus response, denied it, played it down, ignored medical advice, did nothing until late April. All of which allowed the virus to get a strong foothold in the USA. Other nations reacted, closed their borders as early as February, encouraged safety measures and kept their people alive and safer. The facts bear this out, prove it without question, yet when he speaks and says he fought off the virus and through his guidance the USA has the best virus response statistics in the world. AND PEOPLE BELIEVE HIM! Then we have Bidenâs occasional hesitation and stutter, which he has always had, although he is confusing things more often. Meaning...
THIS DEBATE COULD GO EITHER WAY!

@prind142 â Please tell that to the citizens of England, Australia, and others who adapted their constitutions to make personal firearm ownership illegal. The beauty of out constitution is that it can be changed. Please know I am NOT saying it should be, Iâm with you on the 2A, but it is possible. And if you understand politics, our nation, and itâs laws, you know it possible and can see the trend towards tighter gun laws. If we canât adapt, we CAN lose our 2a rights. Then, like Australia, if your home is invaded by gun wielding thugs, and you shoot them defending your family, you too can go to prison for longer than the home invaders. (One case the criminals got 2-3 years each, and the homeowner got 12 years.)

Joe Blow â Not sure what you meant by that. Our world is getting warmer, the once permanent ice flows are indeed melting. Is it humans causing it? That is unknown but assumed. Iâm guessing youâre a trumpet, a climate change denier. Think of it this way, true, false, cause unknown, doesnât matter. If this visible verifiable change is not actually happening, we can take action and help prepare or prevent or do nothing, and life goes on. If it worsens, and we are prepared or can prevent it, our children survive. If it worsens and we continue our denial, and do nothing, it could be an extinction level event. Think about that please. Deny it, do nothing, die... or take precautions and survive. The choice is ours.

@GameChanger597 â Thanks, you just made my day! 𤣠âA True Americanâ LMAO! Who lied to retain power, âincited an insurrection against the United States of Americaâ the very definition of treason, who tried to subvert an election with lies, telling his voters to vote twice, changing in 16 states during a pandemic that instead of being able to drop off mail in ballots at the local city halls, they had to be taken to the County Seat, slowing down the post office, removing Mail Drop off boxes, changed the date from mailed by, to received by for mail in votes, AND tried to cheat at the election by replacing the states duly chosen electoral voters with his chosen ones that would vote for Trump over the respective states popular vote. If THAT is your definition of a âTrue Americanâ this country is lost. You are almost funny if you werenât so sad.

If he lies in court when asked directly by a judge, yes. A lawyer can lose his license and be disbarred. But a lawyer is allowed to lie to defend or protect a client. For example thereâs a clip of Trumpâs lawyers in court being asked repeatedly âwere there any poll watchers in the room,â and the lawyers sidestepped the question saying they couldnât see, their view was bad, their view was blocked. The judge got very direct and demanded a yes or no answer, it was âYes,â and the judge dismissed the case.
Edit: To be clear, before the case started, they can lie, they can make false statements, but cannot lie, commit perjury themselves when asked questions by a judge. The lawsuit mentioned asserted that poll watchers were not allowed to be in the room as the poll workers and were seeking a mistrial. They can lie to bring the lawsuit, they can lie to people or the press, but cannot lie to a judge when asked a question in court.
