I’m confused, I was raised in California and experienced a couple 7+ earthquakes, and we had no damages like those shown. Are we sure the quake wasn’t stronger? This doesn’t make sense.

@robertcollinsworth9113 — We had concrete slabs, walls, etc., too. I’m guessing the other commenter was correct, we have building codes, they may not. No rebar in cement could account for part of the damage. Sadly on the news they said the death toll has climbed to over 2000. Prayers for them.
