  1. Why assume they are alien? It would make more sense if they were future humans interested in or studying history. That would also explain the secrecy, as knowledge of the future could change it, just by knowing about it.

  2. If there is intelligent life in the universe it isn’t us. They most likely have earth in a no fly or no contact zone.
