OwlsEyelash โ I do live in the USA and I am familiar with our press. And yes, I do see your point, sort of. Whenever the press or news mentions a criminal issue involving a Caucasian they rarely reference the persons race or say "white," but when referencing a person of color they do frequently say "Black," "Hispanic" or whatever. I and a lot of people notice that fact. What I donโt understand is your anger or assumption that they didnโt initially call him a terrorist because he was white. He may have been, and if the police's research shows him to be racially, politically or religiously motivated I will be right beside you denouncing him as a terrorist. My point was that to refer to him as a terrorist before the facts are known is wrong. Now that more information has become available, he did seem motivated by hate. Republican family, online rants about God, against gay marriage, and many other issues. The news has also brought up the point that perhaps Austin was targeted because it voted majority democratic while the rest of Texas mostly voted republican. But thatโs all supposition until all the facts are in.
