Reaver Bode — I haven’t heard of the land takeover theory, interesting. And you’ve just stated some facts out of context. Have thousands of scientists denied human involvement and responsibility, yes. I believe it something like 7%, over 90% agree. The question isn’t ‘is global warming real’ that is provable in several decades of satellite photos showing snow/ice loss all over the world. What is in question is if those changes are man made or natural, and if (a great big IF) the water levels rising to what they project. Think if it this way, you can see a huge storm on the horizon, smell it, see the lightning getting closer...do you deny it or take cover? We have a choice, whichever side of global warming you are on, do nothing or try and prepare. There is the ‘potential’ for this to be an extinction level event, we can adapt or face the consequences.

Reaver Bode — I’m lost why you wanted me to read that article from 2012, it clarifies what I said, and is 8 years old. “Global warming can be observed since the 1900’s” O.K., so we can all see a trend. “Scientists are of mixed opinion as to if the phenomenon is natural or man made,” then states “80-90% believe man is having an adverse effect.”
Summary, probably real with a 98% probability, man made is debatable with as few as 80% of scientists saying it may be due to mankind. Will it be as bad as projected? Who the heck knows? AGAIN, failure to plan could mean failure to survive. You are literally standing on train tracks posting snippets nearly a decade old saying false alarm. Stepping off the tracks (ADAPTING) is just smart, staying on the tracks is lunacy. The earth is warming, forget the “why is it” issues. The only thing that matters is we try, we plan to adapt. Because failure means possible albeit remote, extinction.

Reaver Bode — “A 2012 study shows only 25% of scientists believed humans were the cause of climate change.” AGAIN, FORGET BLAME, FORGET CAUSE! The issue is we deny and face the consequences which include potential extinction, OR we adapt and plan to lessen mans footprint on the earth, and plan to adapt to the changing conditions. It’s like you are standing on a hill and a landslide is bearing down on you and YOU are standing there saying, it’s a hoax, landslides have happened before, it could be natural, it could be man made... we don’t need to do anything. Change is happening, you can see the time lapse over 50 years of satellite pictures of glaciers and hundred years of temperature tracking. And you are lost on the “oh, it’s happened before... no biggie” argument. How is it you have the brain of a human but the survival instincts of an ostrich?

Reaver Bode — Yes, some survived and many died. Watch this please... https://youtu.be/pIxRVfCpA64 While just a projection, the impacts are scary. If you want to read something really scary look up the USA’s contingency report on their plans. Initial coastal areas impacted, forcing millions inland stressing infrastructure and food supply lines. The second phase is much of the Midwest underwater if water rises about 50’, This means food shortages, and much higher consolidation of people in massive numbers as people flee other countries for anywhere they have a chance of survival. Think 3000 people storming our southern border with Mexico caused a panic? Imagine 30,000,000! USA has plans to “defend America” and you don’t want to know how. Also imagine how life might be if the US population were consolidated from a fifty foot sea level increase, power grids threatened, food supplies reduced or lost, infrastructure failures... we are talking about what disaster movies are made of in real life. Will it happen? I don’t know. But I do know we are idiots and deserve to be extinct if we don’t at least try to survive, plan to delay the inevitable, plan to adapt.
