Are you unsubscribing because you don’t think the church has the right to be selective or because you don’t think LGBT people should be allowed to adopt children?

I do hate to break this news to you Tonya, but 99.% of gay people come from straight parents. They are raised in families just like we were, they have the same values as you and I, and they grow up often wanting children and a happy family and home just like you and I. This case wasn’t about the rights of LGBT people wanting to be parents, that’s been settled — They can and do. This case was about the rights of a religious organizations right to offer adoptions to straight people only. As stated, 1 of 22 organizations serving this cities foster needs has the right to be selective based on issues of faith. This is good, and it’s NOT discriminatory as they have 21 other services to choose from. Ditto for the cases where a church decided to not marry same sex couples, it is their right, and there are many other churches who will, so it’s not discriminatory.

The SCOTUS just agreed with you. Bottom line of their decision, 22 agencies available, 1 does not offer adoptions to LGBT people. That is a Religion based organization, and the court affirmed their right to be selective. This is good. However your comment That you are “Sick of this being shoved down our throats,” speaks of your personal bias. Let’s be clear, the bias you have just voiced is WHY it’s not going to stop. LGBT people are NOT less ‘anything’ than you, not less deserving, not less human, not deserving of less rights, and NOT less of an American citizen than you. Ask yourself why people keep making this point, keep marching, protesting, and keep standing up for their rights? Think if it were blacks being denied adoption by the church would YOU also feel that they were “shoving it down your throat?” I think not, as blacks have fought, petitioned, marched and rioted to affirm their right to stand as equals. But you can’t stand LGBT people to do the same. Why is that? Why are you triggered by it?

@titanium_armenia6177 — But you also didn’t answer the question. If the Catholic Church was not allowing persons of color to adopt children, would you feel the same? And frankly, I agree with you... in that I am very glad that the SCOTUS has ruled in favor of the church in this case, there are 21 other agencies they can go to. It’s NOT the states (governments) place to dictate issues like this with a religious organization. In this example, the SCOTUS did the right thing. My issue was with your wording, ‘to stop shoving it in your face.” That mere fact that you take issue is WHY they need to keep pressing the issue, and putting it in your face. LGBT people are our brothers and sisters that we are commanded by God to love. They are as deserving as you and I, no less, no more.

There actually are gay Catholic's, so... Yes, they tried. In this case I think the original issue was they were just told "No, we will not let 'you' adopt through the Church's adoption services." What they should have said is "Our policy is to not offer adoption to same-sex couples, however here are 21 other agencies in the city that can help you."

You are not allowed to be proud of being straight and white, that is racism and homophobic. Blacks can be proud, not whites. Gays can be proud but not straights. SWM's are not a minority, you are not persecuted, and you have no right to be anything but ashamed. (Ducking)

When God said “Whosoever believes in me shall be saved,” he didn’t specify straight heterosexual cisgendered male and females only. He used the words whosoever... yet YOU use the Bible to circumvent and adapt God’s message to one of hate.

IMHO, our skin color is absolutely irrelevant. We should never feel proud of our race, because if you actually look, all races contributed to every major accomplishment in the world.

I remember watching a news interview of this couple who heard they were going to marry gays, so this couple traveled from Cincinnati, Ohio to California to March and protest because it threatened their marriage. I had never laughed so hard in my life. Had they not watched the news, their marriage would have remained stable, but watch a news program from the far side of the nation and suddenly THEIR marriage was threatened. You can’t make this stuff up. 🤣

Leviticus says it’s an abomination, but the first thing the new testament says is the laws and covenants of the Old Testament are no more. The Hebrew word for crime, that was translated as “not profitable” in 1 Corinthians 16, 9... was interpreted as abomination in Leviticus. Also in the 1 Corinthians verse where Paul says Do you not know that the murderers, adulterers, homosexuals, etc., will not enter the kingdom of heaven... Paul continues saying and such were some of you, but you were saved, sanctified and justified by the lord. Paul then says But I can do all of these things because I am not mastered by any of them. I can do all things but it is ‘not profitable’ for me to do so.”
