The hostages are all dead by now. Even those left behind when Hamas was fleeing were killed just for spite.

@RobertZemeckis2025 — How so? Had he put boots on the ground (which I would have supported doing to save Americans and other hostages), it would have gotten us deeply involved in their war.

@t-rex4211 — Initially there were a few family interviews, but that stopped a week or two after the event. Who knows Trump’s justification, I have no clue. All I know is American involvement over there has never worked out as intended, it’s made things worse. We may try to help, but we also know it’s pointless.

@ — Interesting logic, so you’re saying that because Israel uses the Hannibal Directive to allow their own troops to be killed (friendly fire) to save hostages, that Hamas has the same rights in return with the hostages? I do not agree with you. A Soldiers mission would be to free hostages, soldiers accept the risks in their assignment as necessary for the greater good. A hostage is a citizen, they are victims not combatants and accepted no risks, get zero pay and in any other situation anyone harming them would be charged with a crime. Add that Hamas was the aggressor, the attacker, and the hostages taken were mostly attending a concert, your premise is false.

@liamn.7664 — Actually it is. Look at the Al Jahaira news (spelling?) interviews with locals after the bombing of a hospital where Hamas troops were hiding and using tunnels underneath. They found hostages recently killed, tried to save one but he died later. All were shot by Hamas as they were retreating, one nurse witness said “the hostages were told to go, they were stupid and refused, choosing instead to stay behind and die.” Those same nurses also said they knew Hamas was using the hospital as a base, and them as human shields, but it was Allah’s will.” Think about that.

@ — True, we don’t know. My point was that when pushed, they are ending hostages instead of allowing to live. This makes them meat shields, only there, only allowed to live as they serve as a deterrent or protection from attack.

@supadupadong — While possible, and their response is criminal to be sure, there has been no evidence so far. All hostages found were found shot, bleeding out.
