darthrib 12 — People speed, so we have speed limits that save lives and that is O.K. Kids die so we created school zones, that’s O.K. as they also save lives. Motorcycle helmets were the law of the line but the Supreme Court rules we have the right to risk OUR OWN LIVES. Seat belts should have fallen into that same category but haven’t, yet, because the burden of care of idiots who refuse to wear seatbelts is well documented, so you now wear a seatbelt or risk a ticket. You can’t walk into a theater and scream fire, or fire a gun in public without cause, because it risks lives. Yet wearing a mask, to prevent the spread of the most infectious disease ever in recorded history (note not the most deadly) with a 14 day incubation period where seemingly healthy people are carriers... “Whoa! That’s TOO DAMN MUCH!” Even though we know the infection rate means one person can infect over a million resulting in 5,000 dead in 1-2 months... YOU insist on your RIGHT to become a mass murderer. You shout “only the sick should have to wear masks!” Even though we know you can be a carrier for 14 days, healthy and spreading the virus. You accept laws for not speeding because it saves a few lives, yet scream bloody murder about wearing masks demanding your rights to kill thousands. Why? We know masks aren’t a cure, an absolute prevention, they are just a preventative measure... like NOT SPEEDING. We are 165,000 dead on our way to the initial projections Trump scoffed at of 300,000. Now the projections are nearing 500,000 expressly due to TRUMP’S LACK OF ACTION. You have the IQ of a rock. You neither deserve safety or liberty because you deny it of others.

Trump’s absolute refusal to say the words BLACK LIVES MATTER, failure to recognize the problem, and his insistence that blacks are the problem and need to be controlled are THE reason we are in this situation now, today. How can you not see that if he was a LEADER he would have sought a compromise? Suggested an end to the repeated rehiring of police officers who abuse their power (the average unemployment time is 3 days.)? Changed the exemption from prosecution to “ONCE PER LIFETIME” or instituted a civilian oversight involvement program recommendation nationwide for all police incidents indicating possible abuse of power? Registered to vote? If there is a need Then you might just get a phone call to meet and review a situation at your local police precinct. The thing is... right now every Republican is deemed a religious racist bigot like Trump. The damage will take decades to repair. The more you support that MAN, the worse the damage will be. And you... You are part of the problem.

007kingifrit — The constitution states the right if free travel shall not be impeded, yet we have border checkpoints, speed limits and laws restricting our travel for SAFETY reasons. Remember the slogan speed kills? Not wearing masks when around other people kills MORE. If you can’t understand that you should not have the right to be in public as you lack the intelligence to not kill others.

Sparky War — True, All Lives Matter, but that’s also a racist statement that belittles and dilutes the BLM issue. A video I watched changed my mind as I had used that same statement myself. Two women standing in their front yards watching a black house burning down the street. How horrible! one says. One woman says let’s go help, the other says you go, I’m staying here to watch my house from catching on fire. The first one says to the other ’But your White House isn’t on fire, the black house is on fire NOW! Let’s go help!’ ‘But my house could catch on fire too, all houses matter.’ The second woman says. The first responds as she walks away ‘Your White House is not on fire, THE BLACK HOUSE IS ON FIRE!’ The second woman responds All Houses Matter, you go on, I’m going to stay here.’ Any student of history knows that what happens to the least of us (minority of the population) will or can happen to the rest of us. That’s why Black Lives do Matter, because once they are marginalized, then the Hispanics, then all brown people, then one day... whites. But by that time no one will be able to help us because we stood up for no one, only we are left to fall, alone.

Sparky War — Masks don’t work because 30% of the population refuses to wear them. Masks are only a preventative measure, they don’t prevent contagion on their own, they just reduce the chances of infection. That’s why they suggest we wash or disinfect our hands as often as possible... to reduce the risk of infection. I also see you disagree with government mandating the wearing of masks. I completely agree with you, the government should not have to mandate it! But why is it necessary? Because some 30% refuse to, rallies and churches are full of unmasked people. Trumps Tulsa rally of 8000 people resulted in over 400 Covid infections and 2 deaths, one was a Republican Senator. Which if you take the 2 week incubation rate into the equation and the infection rate, in just one month you have a potential of 3,000,000 infections, which could have caused roughly 15,000 deaths just from one single Trump rally. My point... if you don’t mandate the wearing of masks, people don’t, which results in many many more infections and more deaths. So why is passing mask laws necessary? Because stupid calloused uncaring illogical people, mostly Trumpets refuse to wear them which costs lives. Did you watch the RNC? Not a mask in site. When a trump advisor was asked about that he replied “We’re all going to get it anyway, so what? We will just develop and pass on herd immunity sooner.” First, that’s NOT how herd immunity works, it works by reducing the uninflected (death or survival from infection) which reduces cases. You cannot pass on immunity except through vaccinations. Second, herd immunity with 319,000,000 people in the USA means roughly 2,000,000 dead from the virus. Yes, Trump is O.K. with TWO MILLION PEOPKE DEAD! Are you? Because without a vaccine THIS could happen!
