  2. Jake's Top 10 — Remember the GMC Hybrid Conversion planned vehicles? Nothing happened with that project because the polls showed the public felt it was “just another gas car.” Solar panels on the roof and hood, electric batteries under the seats, and cargo areas. A small Diesel engine AND generator under the hood so the driver could say tell the car I’ll be back in 8 hours after work. The car would use that time frame to charge via solar, and generator as needed in the time allowed. It was smart. Demos got over 50 mpg IN A SUBURBAN SIZE VEHICLE! Granted, controlled conditions, but awesome. Instead of saying just a gas car, why not say a step in a better direction so THIS doesn’t get killed too?
