  1. The reason is when you make friends with deer they become accustomed to humans, lose their fear of us... which is very very bad! For example a neighbor once remarked at how stupid deer were, how at the very start of hunting season a large doe walked right up to him like it wanted to be petted or fed just before he shot it from 3 feet away. He just laughed and laughed at how dumb that deer was.
