  1. So... essentially the Socialist communist parties are like today’s Republican Party, intent on destroying Democracy. Before you object, look into “STOP THE VOTE”, the many threats like “Stop counting votes or you’ll find out why the 2nd amendment was created,” and the legal issues alleging fraud (none as of yet proven), and the talk of splitting two states into others (2 for Alaska and 5 for Texas) to increase Republican’s chances of winning by electoral votes over popular votes.

Let’s be clear, no one, not Democrats or Republicans want what you assert. But as a 2nd amendment supporter, I would like to ask you a serious multi-part question. Republicans fight EVERY gun law or restriction. Every effort to curb mass shooting, y’all fight. We know that between 80-90%, depending on the state, of guns used in shooting of more than one person come from two main sources; 1. Stolen from friends, neighbors or relatives where the person knows they are unsecured. Or 2. Purchased used from a yard sale, flea market, or other public venue. Republicans fight ALL laws that might help to track or close these avenues. Even a company offering free quick and dirty voluntary (assuming most people don’t want to sell to a violent criminal) was shut down as it might possibly lead to a gun database which Germany used to seize control of weapons (even though the USA is NOT Germany). A law requiring guns to be secured in some manner when not on your person, also defeated. I ask because I like being a CHL holder, and want to keep my rights. Because if you haven’t noticed, with each mass shooting, public opinion shifts a little more. The “Public” puts pressure on politicians, who adopt gun control into their platform in order to get elected, and it’s happening more and more. 2012 no candidate was in favor of gun control laws, in 2016, several were, in 2020 ALL Democrats and some Republicans were in favor of some form of gun control. My point is by fighting EVERY law or change, by resisting every measure to address the issue, we are going to reach a political breaking point where our constitution (written in pencil) can be modified. I for one would like to PREVENT this, but if we, the Republican Party remain intractable, change WILL eventually happen, it will be severe, and WE will have caused it by resisting any and all changes. And lastly, what makes you think I’m a Democrat? When I said “Today’s Republican Party,” I meant the party we have become under Trump, literally demanding the end of democracy in the USA so Trump could remain President.

  3.  @MrCarGuy  — It’s (NOT) perfectly legal to buy and sell guns privately. New guns are registered, but once bought... NEW laws apply. Ever been to a gun show? I really need to educate MYSELF before I speak. I really, really do. Edit; You made me do homework! Turns out you were right, I stand corrected.   4.  @toqtoq3361  — You left out backwards. And yes, it’s a weird kind of twisted logic, any perspective they don’t like, no matter the truth, they deny and discount. My relatives whom I once thought sane, perpetuating crazy conspiracy theories that defy logic. People who I thought were patriots demanding to “stop counting votes” and threatening violence if Trump loses. Literally saying they would prefer a Trump dictatorship over democratic leadership, essentially saying end democracy, Nazi law is O.K. in the USA. People emboldened to reveal their Republican racist white power beliefs they once tried to hide. My relatives, once with values, now lying like crazy because “it’s all for the greater good, to further Gods will,” even though ‘Thou shall not lie’ used to be their fundamental belief. America is as close to self destruction as I’ve ever seen it or thought we could be. If it’s this scary here... I can only imagine what the rest of the world must think.

  6.  @MrCarGuy  — That’s not what the proposed law sought to change. The law sought to encourage people to secure their firearms even if only secured by an anchored cable by instituting fines if an unsecured weapon was stolen. The logic being that if you could afford a $500 gun you should be able to afford an $80 gun safe (pistol) that while perhaps only a deterrent to theft was better than nothing. The law essentially stated that if your gun was used in a crime, such as a shooting, and you had stored it irresponsibly allowing it to be easily stolen, you would face a moderate fine. It was by all accounts unenforceable, but it would have served as a serious reminder to secure your weapons, which would have made less available for someone to steal and use.
