YoYo — The protests started because Hong Kong conceded with Chinas demand for the transfer of "Dissidents" from Hong Kong to China, several bloggers and people who had spoken out against Chinas policies have disappeared as a result. And if you know your history, following WW2, China agreed to allow Hong Kong’s independence for 99 years or through 2046 at least. China has not honored the treaty and agreement they signed. The people of Hong Kong have had a taste of freedom and want to stay free. Your point that USA would not allow a city to separate from the rest of the USA is irrelevant, as the situations are completely different. The issue isn’t the people of Hong Kong, it’s China's failure to honor their own treaty. Please take you inane propaganda rhetoric elsewhere. And by the way, yes. I live in Texas, which is technically a republic not a state. Every dozen years or so some wackos decide to push for Texas's independence again, to become a country again. While doubtful, if Texas ever voted to withdraw as a state, I would like to believe that the USA would honor their decision and allow it. Why we (USA) aren’t or the UN aren’t putting troops on the ground in Hong Kong is beyond me, what China is doing is wrong as hell. Hong Kong has 99 years of independence, the people want to keep their autonomy, China IMHO needs an attitude adjustment. All China has to do is honor their word, honor the treaty, take a step back and the violence would stop. And for your information, if China tried what they are doing to Hong Kong on US citizens, I’d be right there with them fighting for my freedom. It would be a last result but if the US tried to imprison Journalists for voicing their opinions, I am thinking it’d be a civil war event of epic proportions, just like it is in Hong Kong, perhaps worse. Freedom is never easy or free. The world is watching China's actions and we are not happy. That you are attempting to paint China’s actions as anything other than an epic human rights violation is deplorable.

Ye Tian, then you would assume wrong. The police I assume are wearing masks for their safety, as the rioters have gotten violent. The protesters are I assume wearing masks because they fear government retribution in the form of imprisonment or worse. Should protestors who are violent against property or people be caught, tried, and jailed? ABSOLUTELY! Should the police be held accountable for their actions of beating and sending peaceful protestors to the hospital? ABSOLUTELY! There are all kind of wrongs being committed on all sides. My point is simple, these issues started for a REASON, the people’s, the citizens concerns sure sounded valid to us over here on another continent! Imprisoning people for SPEAKING or WRITING something that China doesn’t like? Holy hell! I’m simply saying that China doesn’t need to CONTROL its people, they need to treat them with the respect they deserve. God knows America isn’t perfect, we are a work in progress. The only constant in life is change. Hong Kong’s people have grown to LIKE their autonomy and freedoms from what some would call China's oppressive government. So what? There is absolutely nothing wrong with trying to make a better life for yourself and your friends and family. But why the hell os China so concerned with Hong Kong’s people? Hong Kong is still China, seriously, what is the harm in just letting Hong Kong have and enjoy the few freedoms they have come to enjoy? Why not say O.K., ENOUGH! We will catch, try (as in have a trial), and arrest the individuals who we can prove have injured or damaged property, in Hong Kong, and no one will be transferred from Hong Kong to China against their will. And yes, I also think police should be held accountable for their actions as well as the videos of police beating the crap out of citizens are everywhere in the news here in the states. There’s a hell of a lot of blame to go around. But this interference from China on Hong Kong’s people, I don’t give a shit why it happened, an agreement is an agreement, Hong Kong has 99 years of self government, China needs to honor that promise. Locking up people because you don’t like what they said, is as wrong as it gets. Demanding that these people be transferred to China’s prisons, also wrong. Right now all y’all just have citizens rioting. What’s next? How far is China willing to go? What’s next, dropping bombs and killing their own people? You seem to think that China has the right to "take Hong Kong back" when Hong Kong is, was, and has always been a part of China! Seriously, the people your police are beating and sending to the hospital are your own people! Why in hell cant the leaders of China and Hong Kong meet, shake hands, and say let’s just take a step back and see if we can pick up where we left off? Because if this escalates... you’re talking civil war. And in war, there are no winners, both sides lose.

YoYo — You are one clueless idiot. I follow several YouTube’rs who live in China, my friends wife is from China. I have heard about 'some' of the violence against police officers, but from my perspective some of that hate is earned, not justified, just earned. You don’t know me, I’m as non violent as it gets. But I also know from watching some of the videos of Hong Kong’s police beating what appear to be peaceful protestors, that if I were there in person, I would be helping to stop the police, just as I would help prevent harm to an officer. You seem to have a clear bias for the Chinese government, mind if I ask why that is? Because you don’t seem to be a fair minded individual, you don’t seem to have a balanced perspective. Hell... you seem mentally imbalanced. Why would you try and convince anyone that China has any right to kill its own people? Why would you be so hell bent on convincing anyone that the people of Hong Kong are the bad guys here? You accuse me of having a preference against China, when the truth of the matter is I have a lot of respect for China, what they have accomplished is awesome! Your country has in 40 years completely transformed itself! Kudos! Good for you! But why are you so biased against your own people? Hong Kong IS part of China! Why do YOU not see the differences between China and Hong Kong as a good thing? Strength through diversity, it’s all good! You think me ignorant, as I do you. You think the people of Hong Kong are the problem, and I think you aren’t seeing the big picture. China is Hong Kong, Hong Kong is China. You are NOT separate, you are two halves of a coin. Hong Kong has tasted freedom, and they don’t want to go backwards. So what? Why is China threatened by that? Do you have a clue how incredibly epically stupid that makes China look? China threatened by a single city? China trying to control a single city? China is HUGE! It’s people are amazing... yet you can’t take a 20 year old kid standing up and daring to be different? China has to control everyone in a city? Why?
