As several asked how… Import tariffs are paid by the company importing the product, so your kids toys made by Mattel but made in China, or your clothes, or car, the company buying them pays the tariff, and raises costs to US CONSUMERS to make as much profit as possible. US tariffs on our own exports, are also paid by the US company exporting them. The end results are increased cost to consumers and less profits for exporters because higher prices in foreign countries/markets equals less sales.
