  43. 1. Around six months ago the Republican Party conducted a poll asking "Would you be in favor of President Trump issuing an executive order to make false news against the law?" Over 60% off Republicans said Yes. 2. Who doesn’t know that the lesbian couple who sued the bakery over their wedding cake completely morphed from its origins. The girls placed an order, left a deposit, and got a receipt. Then on the day it was to be picked up they said "No... we aren’t going to do that. They sued and they won based on the CONTRACT issue. Then the news picked it up, and it became a religious issue. Money from the religious right appealed, lost, appealed, lost all the way to the Supreme Court who rules in favor of it being a religious right. The thing is however, it was never ever about religious rights! Several stores in Texas, a restaurant, and a hardware store that I know of both have signs on their door saying "NO GAYS!" If you can put a sign in your window saying no shirt, no service, etc., you can serve whomever you want, this is America. But the bakery had no such sign, they accepted a contract, failed to honor it, and won on the religious issue. What no one is talking about is the long term implications that THIS RULING sets as a precedent! Pick a contract, your car loan, your house loan, your credit card contract, whatever. Any contract can now be null and void based on religious freedoms. Bank manager sees you come in with your same sex partner, they can cancel your home loan because serving you violates their religious freedoms, and the bank can demand full payment, and if not received, they can take your house. Bought a service contract on your car and you and your same sex spouse go in to get service, tough luck, we don’t serve gays. But we have a service contract! The car dealership doesn’t have to honor it. The implications are scary!
