Iām losing my faith in law enforcement. A decade back an officer told me he smelled Marijuana, and I said he had an amazing nose. He placed me in handcuffs in the back of his car while he removed everything from my car, even my back seat, my luggage was opened, everything tossed, dumped on the ground, then he came back to the car demanding to know where I hid the pot. I just smiled and said there was none. He insisted I admitted to drug use, and repeatedly demanded to know where and threatening to impound my car. I kept saying no drugs, and when he repeated that I said he had a good nose, I responded my step brothers forced me to smoke pot when I was 13, so yeah, you have an amazing nose as itās been over 15 years ago. He left in a huff and it took me about an hour to repack my luggage and put the back seat back in my car. I was searched again years later after I asked if I had a choice when he asked to search my car. He called a k9 officer, and the friendliest tail-wagging dog ever peeād on my tires and they said he signaled and searched. Iām tired of this, itās been multiple times, you have no right to say no, they can lie and make up shit to search, and we have no options but to comply.

Ā @Greg-yu4ijĀ ā Actually, no. He is not wrong. The 2a is clear, the right to a free and well armed militia shall not be infringed. He has a point. States have made their own laws, which some⦠are not 2a compliant. I too am on the fence about this because the law must be fair to all, and unless the constitution is changed, 2a is a right. That said with every mass life ending event, public opinion shifts, and politicians are elected by the public. My point, we shouldnāt resist all gun law changes, because if we donāt try to curb these events we will lose our 2a rights we now enjoy. Personally I do NOT see tracking all weapons sales as an issue, a simple website and/or phone app could be used. Background checks, etc, ditto. We are our own worst enemy, If we donāt take steps toward gun safety, we will have only ourselves to blame. Oh, and a pencil worked just fine for John Wick too. š¤£

Ā @paulmccarthy5072Ā ā Iām sure it is, maybe, in some situations, if you have proof and witnesses. But once you take that step they (city/state police and prosecutors) are going to throw the book at you for capital life-ending-event. I had a 87 year old neighbor that āresisted arrestā when they came to his door. The court and legal expenses started at $25k, increased to $50k, then an additional $75k before he went to trial nearly bankrupted the man. All because he didnāt see them enter his house (4 strokes, legally blind), and was surprised when they said āDonāt turn away from me!ā (He essentially freaked out when they grabbed him and turned him around.) WW2 vet, and when he passed away at 91 the case was still haunting him, unresolved. My point is only that while we āmay have the right,ā but the burden of proof is ALL on us, itās expensive as hell, and in his case, the city had unlimited funds, and he paid dearly. You might āthinkā you are right in defending yourself, but can you PROVE it in court? I like your thinking, but I would never ever deliberately put myself in that position.
