  561. Fred, you are putting up strawmen here. So let us clear up a few things here about my position on this. Yes, he was found in contempt of court and I don’t dispute the verdict. There is much about it that can be disputed, but that is another discussion. I have already made it clear that a non-prejudicial hearing is essential for law and he compromised it. What you have conveniently forgotten to mention is that he has been calling this out for over 10 years, back in 2009 he first made his appearance in media circles and spoke quite extensively about such abuse occurring in his hometown of Luton. He was ignored, his arguments and concerns about Islam and its incompatibility with western secular society and the prolific abuse occurring in Luton were and still are conflated with racism and thus ignored. I agree with you that he should have remained silent outside the court house, although unlike you (my perception) I understand his profound frustration and anger about the situation. I also agree with you that Women’s groups and social workers are the unsung heroes, although many lost their jobs or were simply ignored. I do not share your confidence that the state has acted with equity over this, and I am not convinced that any of this would have seen the light of day had it not been in part to Tommy Robinson and others raising their voice over these issues. The EDL arose PRECISELY because government agencies failed to address these Primary issues. This too can be said of the Sikh communities’ initiatives to bring about awareness of the problem.
