Long therm the preditors dont' hold up as well as the honda though too much chineseum in there. If you need one for infrequent use and run straight gasoline insted of E10 .... probably will last well enough, my brother put one on a go kart that used to have a wisconsin on it, and it wasn't quite up to the ammount of vibration it had to endure IMO.

He didn't really highlight this but the Kobold is only $71 ... its probably the best value tool out of all of these. And it has a good track record too, I've used and abused mine left it outside and it keeps going.

@n.mcneil4066 Not really, the entire failure mode of the Titan submarine was pretty well understood... under normal conditions the sub would be perfectly strong, however at 4000m depth water infiltrates between the wrapped pressure vessel layers and causes it to weaken and fail. That is almost certainly what occurred. Nobody should have been using a carbon fiber pressure vessel for a sub without some extreme testing beforehand which they did not do.

Another one to check is the Mossoak/Bluetii 99wh model i has USB-A C and 110V output. Its the largest you can carry on a plane and is TSA approved.

2 stroke? I wouldn't even bother with those... not when you can get the sportsman SS1000 on sale every now and them for similar money. It gets branded under other names too but its a full inverter generator... it has a little GX35 clone in it and is pretty darn reliable.

The Fujiya is clearly using much harder but more brittle steel... I don't think in practice anyone would ever apply enough force to break even them though, and they would likely outlast all the others due to being harder. The worst thing about a pair of lineman's pliers is when they are useless because the cutting blades are basically gone...

Most of these are foreign made... why not include the STILL made and lifetime warrantied in America Cutco knives? The stock sharpness on thier paring knives are around 220, and they are 440A stainless high carbon steel. They also have a unique handle that conforms to your hand in most positions. And yes I know a single cutco paring knife is like 75... its crazy but they are good life long cutlery. Also the cutco will hold a 120 edge or better if you sharpen it yourself... note do not sharpen cutco steak knives yourself they have a complex profile that requires the free factory sharpening.

@whysoserious867 so called recreational gas, is the only gas that actually is just gasoline these days, as long as your car doesn't have a turbo requiring over the octane rating of the recreational gas, it would actually run as well or better than the gas that has a fraction of ethanol in it. Ethanol gas in the US is largely a gimmick and a subsidy for corn that doesn't help emissions at all and in some cases make them worse. By comparison Brazil uses ethanol from higher efficiency sources like sugar cane, and it actually produces energy in their economy whereas corn does not because its an inefficient fuel source.

@arthursmith643 Or you could just use a WIX or NAPA... that literally everyone else uses.

Those must have been the gallon prices not the qt prices even though you should the qt graphics.

Its worth mentioning you dont' have to pay $400 to get stihl I the one I bought was I think $250 ... it has nice easy to use controls unlike many of the other saws that have wonky old style choke controls that dont' automatically reset. My family has always used huskvarna but I bought a still myself since I just needed a small saw for around the yard etc... so a smaller still would be fine even if it weren't as powerful as a larger stihl or huskvarna.I would absolutely NEVER buy a poulan... there were dozens of those at my grandpaws shop all the time many of them never repaired because they were cheap crap that was easier to replace than repair.

Your multiweight oil might actually be the problem many older engines are designed for SAE 40 or SAE 30 oil (when at lower temperatures)... yes it does mean you have to change the oil if temperatures get too low and you want to run it.... but it will work correctly. I suspect the engine restore is just reducing some of the effects of the lighter weight oil ( at cold engine temps). Using multiweght oil can in some engines be actually detrimental (for instance in 2 stroke Detroit Diesels).

Something to remember is that the Briggs & Stratton is just a brand name now... the manufacturer is dead as a doornail in the US as far as I am aware as of last year. Not too surprising i guess considering the stalls...

Pittsburgh steel ramp.... extra 2 inches, why don't they make an 8in lift plastic ramp? that extra 2 inches is nothing to sneeze at.

@grassroot011 Kilmer might not be sponsored but he is insufferable lol. And some of his advice is baseless old man seat of pants advice that was probalby wrong 20 years ago and is still wrong.

Wierd that the makita is the only electric saw with a truly sane safety mechanism.... everything else is an annoyance button.

What is really a travesty... is that this truck could have been built that way from the factory and wasn't.
