@eisbombenterror The Bible does not condone sin, it does list many instance of man committing sin, and the consequences they were delt with because of that sin. Also slavery in Rome at least was not chattel slavery it was more akin to socialized criminal or debtor punishment, they were still considered people and had protected rights as slaves. In many ways its superior to throwing people in jail... because its potentially more rehabilitative and treats people as human beings rather than an inconvenience to be locked away. It sounds to me like you are the one with a lack of understanding of the Bible as well as history of that time period as well.
