@donleamon8653 Torque is a measure of force not power, and frankly is irrelevant to the coversation of engine RPMs at highway speeds because it isn't involved in those calculations (except transmission design) Anyway.... it takes between 70-100hp to push a full size truck down the road at 80mph (calcualted from frontal area + Coefficient of drag of the truck)... so this engine producing 80-100hp at 2000k rpm isn't surprising at all. If it produces around 310HP at 5600rpm... well 80-100hp is right in line with that at 2000rpm both of which should in or near the edges of the power band.

Why are they still selling crap like this instead of opposed pistons and other advanced engines... the opposed piston engine was ready for conversion to manufacturability about 4-5 years ago (basically they had a reliable bench tested engine from unopitized parts ready to adapt to mass manufacturing). The US military is getting these engines already as well in the ACE.... so where is my 37-40mpg pickup? the OP engines should also produce as much or more torque as this engine... since its a 2 stroke. And competitive HP at about 100HP per liter.
