To be completely fair... even with the air test results the symptoms she claimed are ultra unusual. Also, they acutally should go back with a spray foam... just not the same one. They should go back with an Icynene foam... its probably the safest option and unlike polyuathane foam that takes a day to well over a week to clean out.... Icynene has an exclusion period of only 2 hours.

Yes it is so sad, imagine having been family in one of these homes that survived the attack but could not do anything top stop this madman... such anguish and powerlessness.

@scotttighe8569 Just use a non off gassing nontoxic spray foam... they exist and the upcharge is minimal. Also if you use an Icyene foam, you can spray an extra coating on top of it to make it a fire barrier which you can't do with most other foams.

@jameseverman4014 Spray foam in new construction only... You are crazy, it is 100% normal to install spray foam in an attic of an older home... and equally safe as installing in a brand new home literally no difference.

@superchuck3259 There are plenty of non off gassing spray foams ... Icyene being the leading example of low off gassing foams. Some foams even allow same day reentry at this point. Also Icyene itself is nonflamable... and if an emtumecent layer is sprayed on top it can be a fire barrier. (Icyene will burn if there is a secondary flame but is noncombustible otherwise.) sort of like how sugar doesn't burn unless you apply some soot to it...
