  1. West Germany has "Taken over" East Germany? No, it was a unification. And no, not East Germany has to change everything in 1990 and West Germany has not, no, West Germany stayed roughly the same politically before and after the war and after the unification, only the East changed to Communism cus it was forced to, and this change was reversed in 1990.

  2.  @azuremoon4372  Yea, true. Since it was "Wiedervereinigung", and not "change the new Bundesländer". If people wanted a change, they could have done on top of the unification, not instead of. And not blaming the unification for completely different things they might have wanted.

As "West-Germany born" I can say, that the unification doesn't affected the West much, a bit more taxes yes, but other political decisions that aren't related to the unification affect us much more. And the East? They got unemployment and other problems starting with the unification. But they got basic human rights (leaving their country etc.) and the ability to buy what they want too. So maybe, just maybe, Korea could do the same.
