I pass at least 5 huge fields, full of maize, which will be taken to Boston,Lincs.to be put in anaerobic digesters,to produce methane,to be burnt, thus releasing CO2.The land is subsidised by taxpayers, the digesters are subsidised by taxpayers and the electricity price is indexed linked with 20yr contracts.
Already,we have been told that bread and flour will be more expensive next year, hardly surprising when fields are used for maize, instead of cereals!
It was the Tory govt.who stopped onshore turbines and solar panel subsidies for ordinary people,so although today’s news on turbines is welcome, let us not forget that it is the landed gentry that have been subsidised since 1947 and continue to be so.Frankly,I fail to see why we should be handing Sir James Dyson £2 million a year for being rich !!!
