Two local Councils here in Lincolnshire have recently refused planning permission for renewable energy sites,yet field after field is growing 6ft high maize.This is not grown for food,but to be put into anaerobic digesters to make methane……BURNT !(more CO2 !) to produce electricity…..for the benefit of subsidised (£3bn) farmers,running veg. pack houses,and all other farm machinery…….all of which has been paid for with taxpayer grants ! It begs the question,why isn’t the land,the money,the Councils,being used for a RENEWABLE FUTURE ?

  2.  @webchanter315  It is the lack of any progressive energy policy and the deception(lies) used to favour the landed gentry(Tory voters).We can’t build houses,but we can grow crops…to burn….to add to the CO2 problem. We can’t have either wind or solar onshore(quicker,easier,cheaper) even though we are going electric.We can’t have immigrants,but this maize is going to a farm that has 200,6-8 berth caravans to house the 10,000 immigrant agriculture requires. No progress,but lies,incompetence and corruption that ensures that the rich get richer from the Tories.
