Farming Today R4 22/9/ 21 For years farmers have been building subsidised Anaerobic Digesters ( almost 1,000 ) and given 20yr contracts to produce ethanol (E10 petrol) and methane to make electricity………they are your energy providers !!! Fields round here are growing maize,silage and wheat,not for food,but to go into the digesters.No wonder they are happy to see energy companies go bust……more for them. Had the Govt.put this money into County Councils,towns and cities could have put our manure,our food waste into energy production……by the people,for the people…….but that wouldn’t have made the rich,landed gentry……even richer !!!
