Little wonder Honda/Swindon is to close,the X-trail is going back to Japan and Hitachi have pulled out of building our nuclear reactors and trains.Still, it won’t matter.Oh look,JPMorgan have just moved their staff and billions of pounds out of the country.Still it won’t matter,even though we can’t afford any holidays........we’ve got our blue passports!

  6. The deal boosts U.K. GDP by 0.07%,over 15 yrs.Japan makes up 2% of U.K. trade.Japan has allowed us to fill 10 out of 25 food quota’s.......IF, the EU doesn’t fill them ! Japan has told us how much state aid we can give.Japan wanted the deal done,it’s only the same as their EU one ! We wanted the deal so that we could join the TPP. Get real,you aren’t going to be any better off,just because we can export £120k of Wensleydale cheese.

  16. The Irish Republic has been exporting beef to the US since 2015.Official figures expected it to reach 100 m euros,they only managed 31 tonnes,worth 194,000 euros!!! This NI/UK deal is worth £66m...over 5yrs=£13m at best !!! Whilst a small step,it does sound like “exporting coals to Newcastle” and to hell with slaughtering 350,000 cattle and their environmental impact.(methane/soya/Amazon)

  24. AUSTRALIAN-STYLE DEAL, HIP, HIP, HOORAY! Just a sec.,Australia doesn’t have a trade deal with the EU ! It does export beef (if it’s ‘high quality’),but it’s got a 20% tariff.Australia exported to the EU £15bn goods,......the U.K. exported £300bn which was 43% of all our goods ! Sounds as if the Australian-style deal will be as good as Doris’s world-class track and trace..........................................HELP!
