  1. For about 8 years, back in the day, I invested in a National Savings Yearly Bond. 12 monthly payments but if you left the money in for a 2nd & 3rd year the amount of interest increased to x3. There needs to be government schemes like bonds to raise money for investment from the populace rather than borrowing on the commercial market thus giving profit to banks or hedge funds
