  2. For the last 30 years politics has been dominated by ideologues & sycophants (loyalty above ability). We have too many intellectual pygmies for politicians. A PPE degree is the equivalent of one in French Literature. Reeves' has a PPE & a MSc from LSE in economics but hasn't got a clue how to implement theory practically in the real world. How many in the modern Labour Party have heard of let alone read (and understood): Eric Hobsbawm, E. P. Thompson: The Making of the English Working Class, Isaiah Berlin, Bertram Russell and John Maynard Keynes. They are infected with neo-liberalism.
