Because tax breaks for the rich and trickle down economics have been a startling success. 1 thing Bernie missed was, make union busting a crime and force the likes of Walmart and Amazon to accept unions and while you are at it stop the "independent contractor" BS. If you work exclusively for 1 company you are an employee.

  3. The USA is a Democratic Republic. It is only the almost permanent list of "swing states" that decide the election for president therefore if you live in another your vote is largely irrelevant, much like if you live in a "safe" seat in UK. Modern propaganda & media bias deceive people constantly and who pays dictates the narrative, like the old saying "He who pays the piper calls the tune". Modern democracy has become like a game of roulette and the House always wins.
