The death of a child often brings emotion into the courtroom and without a good judge and a proper defence a jury will be unduly influence by emotion and not listen to the evidence properly. There have been several high profile cases in UK where mothers have been convicted of killing their babies only years later has it been proven it was cot death/SIDS.

The councillors who voted to fire her should lose their job for poor judgement and not following the arbitration outcome.

As with casinos where they say "the house always wins", the vast majority of judges are not so much above the law but outside it. A judge should be treated the same as any other citizen else they have or appear to have a "get out of jail free card". Secrecy has no part in these investigations

There is already a buffer zone, its called "don not cross" tape. This is about police wanting unfettered power.

In the UK there are limits on what debts you can pay with coinage. To pay in pennies the limit is 20 pence or about a Quarter unless both parties agree to a larger amount. It stops people/business being petty, obnoxious and a nuisance like this business. I do hope the IRS finds all their dirty laundry and prosecutes them to the full extent of the law.

Obviously the builder needs his license revoked. It is BS that the county building inspectors are immune. If it is mandatory to have inspections done then they have a duty to perform the service to the require standard because if not then it is fraud.

There are 2 problems here: 1. the debt collectors are not employees of Scottish Power so that give the company plausible deniability: we didn't make the mistake. 2. Too many companies are very agressive in pursuing debts and will not admit to errors or accept phone calls/letters with correct information and if they do it takes many months to update their systems, meanwhile the debt is still chased. They know that 99% of people don't have the money to sue and get a decent amount of compensation. We have a broken system in the UK where companies are fined. The idiotic lawmakers fail to realise that the fines are paid by overcharging their customers.

Sadly many people fall for these scams. Never respond to to unknown contacts, never click links. keep system up to date & use a good AV (not Windows Defender). Beware text messages on your phone as well. Use a password manager & 2 factor authentication where possible.

The US justice system is corrupt & deeply flawed! Cops should not be allowed to lie to people, all interviews/interrogations must be recorded, the jailhouse nonsense should be stopped. Another bad practice is elected officials running campaign based on bogus conviction rates.
