  1. Post WW2 The Allies (including USA) imposed a new constitution on West Germany: this included workers rights, union membership & worker representation of company boards effectively giving German workers better rights than US workers. It also abolished capital punishment. Nothing to do with Marxism or socialism as so trolls are saying. See "Basic Law for the Federal Republic of Germany"
