  1. Pavement parking should be banned. So many places where paving slabs have been broken by car, vans and lorries. The footpath is for pedestrians, not cyclists either. This an example of the blight caused by households with 2+ cars. Where my partially sighted brother lives it often means the refuse & recycling is not collected due to the road being blocked at the junction, breach of the Highway code and on a right-angled bend in the road. Too many drivers act with impunity regarding the laws. No one has a god given right to park where ever they choose just because they have bought a car

  3. There was a event 2 or so years ago. Car parked/abandoned fully on the pavement with 1 number plate removed and the other with half missing. Over 45 minutes to get through to 111 and they seemed more interested in taking every conceivable detail from me and then told me it was a matter for the Council. Spoke to the Council who again wanted to know everything about me and told me to contact the police. I then informed them that the police had referred me to them. Took 3 days to get the car towed away.: by chance I happened to see this taking place on a main road in the city. No good in having rules/laws if they will not be enforced.

  5.  @russellprout723  The old argument is that it is difficult to prove vehicular manslaughter. If some dies in or outside of the vehicle & the driver is drunk, high or speeding I would contend there is intent as you did those things voluntarily knowing the risks therefore not an accident.

  6.  @russellprout723  That may the letter of the law. I still contend that drivers are treated leniently when it comes to causing a death through driving as it is seen as an "accident". There are too many bad and irresponsible drivers allowed behind the wheel of a car. If you are drunk, high or speeding when a crash happens and someone dies I believe that you should lose your license permanently.

  10. Don't make me laugh! These men won't serve half their sentences. They shouldn't be released until their full sentence is served AND all the money is paid back. Much easier for the Tories to put effort into "illegal immigrants" and benefit cheats to grab headlines. I have long held that the book will be thrown at you for robbing a little old lady of her pension at the post office than if you wear a suit, speak posh and swindle someone/company/organisation out of a million £. The criminal justice system has become a joke and a lottery. "Crime doesn't pay" 🤣 just look at how much money has been recovered under the "proceeds of crime" law.

  11. I'm sure some people fall for these scams because they are using their phone and the screen is too small. Check sender of email by a right click and same for any buttons. Phone numbers are increasingly being spoofed so what you see on caller ID is not correct. You can contact Amazon by live chat or phone. Always call you bank/credit card company never discuss sensitive details over an incoming call and make sure the call has properly disconnected ( get a dial tone) as some scammers can keep the line open and intercept what you think is an outgoing call.
