Lots of times just because they like it and they are bored. They are lazy, narcissistic and cannot work with other people. They think rules don't apply to them. Everyone has to go on egg-shells. The only thing they want to compete for is attention while men compete for success.

If I have to communicate with you on a work-related issue I will do that in a professional manner. I will show you the same respect as you show me but I don't care what you think or what you look like that is not part of the job. I believe that has to be earned first, and if you give it away all the time and for free and doesn't mean anything.
