I heard the same thing - but, one part of the answer could be that when your family arrange your marriage for you to usually pick the best man they can find for her and a lot of thought goes into that process unlike when a female do all the thinking herself and thinking is not really their strongest suit so news-flash they pick the wrong man for them.
