As an American first of all understand no one gives a f about your rights in other countries especially not third world countries, the rights you got back at home doesn't mean s**t over there, no one cares, only in America - as they say, you live in a bubble. Most of the world does not have rights. Second - understand that many people don't like Americans, the only reason they pretend to like you is because they can extract resources from you and/or get a greencard through you - that's it, they don't give a f about you.

Also do not think that all people that live there are friendly, just because most of them are friendly doesn't mean all of them are, same with Japan - same with everywhere, there are bad people out there, and gangs, and psychos, and drug-addicts (that do anything to get money)

  5. yes and look at him he's a boy...no muscels no life experience what is he going to do? he has never been in a fight in his life, this is not the right guy to live in such a place he's not made for that, you have to come from a rough neighborhood to stay there BUT that does not make you immune to violence of course but at least then you should have some streetsmarts.
