  1. We dog people love our furry companions. My old dog, Jack, who passed away some years ago was a bush dog. He slept under my 4WD when I lived in the scrub. If there was a perceived danger about, he'd let out a low, distinctive growl just loud enough for us to hear. Over the years he warned us of snakes, wild pigs, suspect people sneaking through the bush at night, and even a crocodile. He was an awesome dog. His 'sister' is still with me. She's nearly nine now. Jack was nearly 19 years old when he died. Jack was a diver. I have photos from when he was a young dog staying underwater (looking for the rock I threw) for over 30 seconds.
